Creating a Module with AI (Quick Create Module)
Instead of filling in each field by hand, you can describe the module in text and have AI draft it for you (only shown if this feature is enabled on your account).
Steps
- In the "My Library" panel (Workspace), click the "Quick Create Module" button (the green-outlined button with a sparkle ✨ icon) — this button only appears if your account has permission to use AI module creation.
- The "Quick Create Module" dialog opens. Read the instructions and the example in the dialog, then describe the module in as much detail as possible: module name, function, board size, PCB color, interface type, operating voltage, number of pins, each pin's name/function, pin spacing, mounting hole positions, component placement.
- Click "Auto-Generate".
Result: The generation process (calling AI to write the description + generate an image) takes about 30–60 seconds or more. Once done, the dialog closes automatically and the "Create New Module" editor opens, already filled in with the name, type, pin count/layout, and an AI-generated image. You can still edit every field before clicking Save, just like creating one manually.
Note: If the AI-generated image fails, the front image field will be left empty — you'll need to upload an image yourself before saving (since the front image is required).
Example
Description entered in the dialog: "HC-SR04 ultrasonic distance sensor module, blue PCB board sized 45 × 20 mm, 5V power. The module has 4 pins on the left side, 2.54 mm pin spacing, consisting of VCC, TRIG, ECHO, GND." — click "Auto-Generate", and after ~40 seconds the editor opens with the name, 4 pins already filled in with the correct names/functions, and an AI-drawn module image — just review it and click Save.
