Annotation, Zoom, and Canvas Navigation Tools
Annotation Tools on the Canvas (Tool Rail)
The vertical toolbar at the top-left corner of the canvas includes:
- Select (key V) — the default selection tool.
- Wire (key W) — draw wires + choose route style.
- Text (key T) — place annotation text.
- Note (key N) — place a sticky note.
- Rectangle (key R), Circle (key O) — draw annotation shapes.
- Delete — delete the current selection (only enabled when something is selected).
When you select an annotation object (text/note/shape), the Properties panel lets you adjust: font size, font style (bold/italic/underline), alignment, text color, background color (for notes), X/Y position, and a dedicated delete button for each type.
Zoom In / Zoom Out / Fit View / Fullscreen
The group of buttons on the right side of the toolbar above the canvas:
- Fit view (key F) — fits the viewport to the entire diagram.
- Zoom out / Zoom in — the two magnifying glass buttons.
- The zoom percentage button in the middle (e.g. "100%") — click to reset to exactly 100%.
- Fullscreen / Exit Fullscreen — toggle fullscreen viewing mode.
Undo / Redo
Next to the Auto Wire/Auto Route buttons on the toolbar are 2 buttons, Undo (Cmd/Ctrl+Z) and Redo (Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+Z) — grayed out when there's nothing left to undo/redo.
Collapse / Expand the Left Panel
Click the collapse button in the top-right corner of the left panel to shrink the panel into a narrow strip; click the expand button again to bring back the full panel.
Example
When presenting the "Room Temperature & Humidity Monitoring Station" diagram to someone else: press N to place a note saying "DHT22 needs a 10kΩ pull-up resistor on the DATA pin if the module doesn't have one built in," place it next to the DHT22 node, then press F to fit the viewport to the whole diagram before taking a screenshot for a report.
